About

STIHRS is an open source handwriting recognition program that is able to recognize images, such as those from a scanner, and input from a touch screen. It has good accuracy rates when the user is consistent and the writing is easy to break down into letters.

STIHRS was originally made as a science fair project by Nate Broussard and Alan Pierce, and it is still being developed. We plan to continue development at least until summer 2007.
